Good and bad

Where there's good, there's usually some bad too.

On some various test rides, it would appear that my 3rd gear is a little worn out, on changing up to it, some not so pleasant sounds emanated from the gearbox area, on clutch in they disappeared, clutch out they reappeared. 3rd gear Gearbox issue. Bummer.. its only on third though

On disassembly/reassembly, i checked all gears and they appeared to be all OK, not any signs of extreme wear or anything that seemed usable, in fact it actually appeared as though previous owner had done some replacements work on the gearbox (bearings/seals, etc). I'm intrigued to find out what the issue is.

In an attempt to get running again asap, and to avoid the potential minefield of mis-labled parts/ purchasing the correct singular gears from various suppliers across the web, i have just purchased a compete NOS (new old stock) k750 gear box. So that should cover all possibilities and get me going sooner as it should just be a quick cleanup (i think its going to come in the traditional grease paper), and swap out.

K 750, MB 750 gearbox. NOS
Thanks oldtimergarage!. -  bit more pricey, but i know exactly what im getting, know its good quality (and they were the only guys who had my correct gearbox available and in stock)!
there were some on eBay - but i don't really trust those ones - Ive had many mislabeled parts from various sellers there so i think its best to be safe and order from a verified dealer.!

and now

the wait.....
