New things

Some new parts came..
Nice re-silvered headlamp reflector
Just the mufflers are new...
The exhaust system was loosly assembled, and painted high temp black. Then on to whats left of the engine...
Timing and crank gears

Tappets. covered in some kind of thick treacle type goo.

the crank came out surprisingly easily. There is a method to it though. Perhaps getting it back in could be the hard part?

 After much de-greasing,  scrubbing, this is what happened.

 Now stuff was all sparkling and clean. It seemed a good idea to put it all back together..

Crank back in
 Yes it was a bit tricky to get back in, again there is s method to it, got it in there in the end.

Twist crank in to correct position.

Press in front bearing

Press the crank back into the front bearing + cover on.

Crank gear on, and camshaft in.

Clean gears


Tappets back in

Oil pump gear back in.

Flywheel in place (and clutch got in there too later)

Generator on + Piston heads back on

nearly there.

Igniton in and covers on.

Well now thats done. Im waintg for some gearbox seals so that will go on also when they arrive.
Next things to look at..

 Yes the next image isnt that exciting. Im using a chemical bath to strip the rust and goo, from the iside of the tank.

 then as all went well, i assembled the light back into it housing and put it back on the bike..
