So, a nice box of goodies arrive recently, and with the weather being a bit more sensible, i could start work installing the new bits and pieces.
Although mechanical sound, i felt the front forks needed a bit of a tidy. One of the things i purchased, were a (NOS) set of chromed telescopic fork bottoms. The old ones had flaky chrome and were going a bit rusted in places, so i felt a swap out was needed. I got new ones as they were cheaper than getting the old ones re chromed - i still have them, perhaps ill get them re chromed at a later stage to use on another project....
needless to say, replacing the bottoms, required a complete rebuild of the forks..
