MOT joy or not?
Its all finished.
I say this lightly, as with Dneprs, things are never really finished, there is always something that may break, to be improved or tinkered with.. but for now, its finished.
A bit of fiddling with the wiring ,a slow acting far side indicator was one issue- i had wired it 'the long way round', and another was with the old style brake switch, which had got a bunch of water in it.
Brake switch was the worst to fix, I had to remove it, completely disassemble it, (all 3 bits..) i cleaned up the inner bits, and applied a bit of solder on to the metal contact cap, to increase conductivity. A quick re-assemble, and adjusted to operate on a hairs movement of the brake lever, and then sealed the whole lot with waterproof self amalgamating tape. That did the trick.
Now, after a load of test rides down the road to double check brake 'efficiency', lights, horn, ride etc a M.O.T was booked for this Saturday (conveniently 9mins away, and located next to a xmas tree sales place - maybe i can stick the tree in the car on the way back!)
Lets hope it passes. (mechanically at least - emissions: no chance, but as its a classic, so it doesnt matter)
EDIT: i also need to register it too, but ill get to that after MOT success...
